Pakana Heritage is a Tasmanian Aboriginal-owned and operated archaeological company.
My name is Teleeha Took (nee Thomas), and I am a proud
Trawlwulwuy/ Melukerdee woman. I am a qualified historian and archaeologist, specialising in Aboriginal Cultural Heritage. I have obtained a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in History and a Master of Arts, majoring in Extended Archaeology.
I have extensive experience in Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management, historical research and field archaeology. I have worked as an archaeological consultant in NSW, Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania.
I also have a keen interest in forensic archaeology and science, which has allowed me to complete two courses at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine, as well as participating in a Mass Burial Excavation Exercise at the Australian Facility of Taphonomic Experimental Research (AFTER) in 2023.
I am proud to be working on Country with my elders and mob, experiencing Culture and Connection to my lands, waters, and sky.
