Aboriginal Cultural Heritage

My Mission

At Pakana Heritage, my mission is to provide exceptional heritage services that honour and protect Aboriginal cultural heritage values as well as create sustainable strategies that benefit both the community and clients.

I understand that Country, Sky, and Sea have a continual connection to the pakana/palawa people of lutruwita and beyond and must be cared for to ensure a healthy community.

Our cultural heritage provides us with direct links to our Pakana Ngini, our stories, our creation and our Country.

Our Country is a living cultural landscape with deep memories of our Pakan Ngini.

We provide Aboriginal Cultural Heritage services across Tasmania, including the preparation of Aboriginal Heritage Assessment Reports (AHARs) in accordance with the requirements of the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2024 and Aboriginal Heritage Tasmania Aboriginal Heritage Standards and Procedures 2023.

We work alongside the Aboriginal Heritage Officer during heritage survey and whilst developing heritage management recommendations.

Pakana Heritage pays respect to the palawa/pakana in lutruwita/Tasmania, and is committed to engaging meaningfully to form a genuine partnership. We acknowledge their continuing connection to their unceded lands, waters, and sky, as well as their deep spiritual connection to Country and their expertise in caring for it. We also honour their Elders, both past, present and emerging. We acknowledge that they never ceded sovereignty.

I acknowledge and remember all my Ancestors. I pay my respect to their creation, their resilience and their wisdom.
